Help! The Lints Taking Over!

When I started reading this article, I was hoping to find an answer for a problem, but I didn't. Can you help? I'd love to continue drying cloths without a dryer, but the lint that otherwise would have been drawn into the dryer's lint trap is clumping up and sticking to the clothes. It's a mess and difficult to get out. I've experimented enough to be comfortable in saying that this never happens to me when I use the dryer. So, what's going on here?
