Tips to Fill Your Yard

  • I have found that another inexpensive way to get plants for my yard is to check out the trash area of home improvement stores. Many times, I have found plants that have been thrown out because they were a little brown, and I simply took them home and "nursed" them back to health!

  • Another great way to get free plants is a swap meet for gardeners. Our community has one of these every year and all you have to do is take your plant to exchange with someone and you get free plants in return.

  • I also get from time to time promotions from nurseries to order so much product, and with the coupon they offer, my order is free!

  • When I go to family members homes and admire their plants I often come home w/a cutting or a full transplant for my yard.

  • I only buy things that will multiply and I split them every two years.

Thus, my yard is full and I have paid very little in the years for the purchase of plants.
