Create a birthday gift treasure hunt! This is appropriate for young children as well as teenagers.
Provide lots of clues and hand-drawn maps. Use heavy paper and tear the edges a little, then rub them in dry dirt for that aged look. For birthday gifts get lots of loot from The Dollar Store, thrift stores or extra items you have around the house. You could also go to the bank and get 50 cents in shiny pennies for each buccaneer to find. Your pirates will be pleased with their booty.
