Now that Thanksgiving is over, the Christmas season is officially here. From crafting and decorating, to shopping, wrapping, and cooking... plus a few parties too, if you're anything like me, all your extra time is really swamped until after the new year. In my searches for holiday time savers, I knew what I wanted. Not baking recipes, not turkey marinades, or creative ways to gift wrap. Nope. I only wanted options for really quick cleaning techniques I could use before guests arrive, or after get-togethers when my feet hurt, or even after crafting or baking during the day. I was in search of a true time-saver I could reach for when things get holiday hectic, or I'm exhausted after a full day. So did I find that easy way to quickly spruce up my space? Read on for my opinion on how a variety of quick wipes could save you time.
Frugal Rebuttal: We readily acknowledge that there are less expensive ways to clean. You can use homemade cleaners and an old baby diaper. But there are times when convenience is terribly important. For instance the evening when you get home from work at 6pm and your dinner guests arrive at 8! So we provide this information to help you decide whether you'd rather have the convenience or the savings. We've included links to purchase them through Amazon. Full disclosure: we are an Amazon affiliate. So if you are going to buy we'd be happy to see you do it through Amazon.
A Little About these SC Johnson Products
SC Johnson sent us a great variety of wipes, as well as the Scrubbing Bubbles toilet cleaner to try out for quick cleaning.
Windex Wipes - These are basically Windex in a pack of wipes - and they are so convenient for quick cleaning. I kept my pack of Windex Wipes in the bathrooms, so that I could easily wipe down my mirrors. They also worked great on my glass dining table, and they even work on my tile countertops and my glass top stove, too! They are a wonderful way to quickly spruce up surfaces to make them shiny and clean.
Windex Electronic Wipes - These Windex wipes are specifically made to target the grime build-up on your electronic devices. So any TV screens or other electronics can be quickly cleaned with these great wipes. I kept them close to my TV screen so I could easily wipe away dust and debris. According to SC Johnson's site, they also work well on phones and tablets too!
Scrubbing Bubbles Antibacterial Bathroom Wipes - These were absolutely perfect for my bathroom! I kept them under the cabinet so that I could quickly wipe away toothpaste, dirt, and everything else off bathroom counters, sinks and toilets. Plus according to SC Johnson's site, these wipes are flushable too! Another huge plus!
Scrubbing Bubbles Toilet Cleaning Gel - Another great way to keep your cleaning quick and effective - find a product that cleans for you! And that's exactly what Scrubbing Bubbles Toilet Cleaning Gel does. The product essentially stamps a gel disk on the inside of the toilet which sticks there, gradually dissolving with each flush. And with each flush, your toilet stays cleaner! The disk lasts for 7 days, then it's time to stamp a new one.
What I Liked about these Products
I can honestly say that when it comes to quick holiday cleaning, these 4 products will be tools in my toolbox. They are small, so they can be easily stored for quick access when needed. Plus they work! Both types of Windex wipes worked great, and the Scrubbing Bubbles wipes and toilet cleaner also worked really well in the bathroom!
What to Think About Before Buying these Products
As we said, one thing to remember with these products is that they are geared towards providing convenient products that also work. For many of us, we'd rather save the money and reach for a bottle of glass cleaner and a rag. But if you are in a hurry, and you like the way that you can easily store wipes discreetly near where you need to clean, these could be a perfect solution for you for a quick holiday clean-up.
