Hess has been creating toy trucks for 50 years, with the idea of providing a sturdy and affordable toy including batteries! And every year during the holidays, a new Hess Toy Truck is introduced to the masses. This year, Hess is actually offering two different trucks - a 50th Anniversary Hess Toy Truck, and a 2014 Collector's Edition Hess Toy Truck. We received the 2014 Collector's edition truck for review.
It comes packaged in a beautiful box, and it includes one larger tanker truck, with a smaller tanker truck inside, which is meant to be a replica of the original 1964 tanker truck. The larger truck has more than 100 working lights and a little hinged door on the back, which allows you to remove the smaller replica truck. And the smaller truck even has lights too!
I can tell you that my kids would really love all the lights on these trucks. And in my opinion, the design is amazing! You can purchase the Collector's Edition Hess Toy Truck on the Hess Toy Truck website and the price is currently $45.99.
The 50th Anniversary truck is a flatbed truck that serves as both a transporter and a launchpad. It also comes with Scout and a space cruiser. And both the flatbed and the space cruiser have sounds and lights! You can also purchase this 2014 Hess Toy Truck with Space Cruiser on the Hess website and the current price is $29.99. !
