Have you ever wanted a snack that's not too sweet, but enough to satisfy a sweet tooth? Or a perfect cookie to go with your afternoon cup of tea or coffee? We're always on the lookout for great tasting snacks and treats that are healthy too. And when Almondina agreed to let us review a wide selection of their cookies, we were really excited to try them. Here's what we thought:
A Little About Almondina Cookies?
The story behind Almondina cookies is really interesting. The cookie recipe is a family recipe, started by the company owner's grandmother, Dina. She kept the recipe a secret for her entire life, and she only passed it on to the company owner's mother before she died. With his mother's blessing, the company owner now shares these fantastic cookies with the public. They are available in many stores, and they are a great, healthy option for a snack. Plus they come in many different flavors too! We were sent a variety, including two packages of the Original Almondina cookies, plus one package each of the Choconut, the Cinnaroma, the Gingerspice, the Almonduo, the Chocolate Cherry, and the Sesame.
What We Liked About Almondina
All four of us Dollarstretchers here in the office tried the Almondina cookies, and most everyone enjoyed the flavors! They are are a light and crispy cookie that isn't too sweet. Depending on the flavors, these cookies would be great as a snack by themselves, and they'd also be a wonderful complement to tea or coffee, or even a light cheese, depending on the flavor. They have a large variety to choose from, so if you prefer a sweeter chocolate snack or even a ginger, sesame, or cinnamon one, the variety is there!
What to Think About Before Buying Almondina
Depending on our own taste buds and opinions, some liked one type of cookie over another. Some liked the original, while others preferred the chocolate cherry ones. Not everyone's tastes were the same, but overall , in our opinion, 3 out of four of us DollarStretchers thought all the snacks were tasty. Like most foods, our tastes here at TDS will vary, so you will want to try out the ones that you think you might like, to see if they will work for you.
And that's it! Overall we thought the Almondina cookies were a wonderful, light and healthy snack, perfect for heading to a summer picnic or an afternoon tea. Be sure to check out the Almondina website so that you can see where to find these great snacks, and pass the word along. And also like them on Facebook, and follow them on Twitter too!
