Spaghetti is a regular meal at our house--and I can sneak by with a smaller amount of hamburger in the sauce (saving more on the grocery budget!). This mixture of spices added to a can of tomatoes makes a good quick spaghetti sauce. When time is scarce, and dinnertime is near, this mix plus a handful of spaghetti will be a quick answer to your problems.
Combine ingredients and store them in a tightly closed container. Shake before using. Mix will keep up to 6 months (put a date on the label!) on the pantry shelf. TO USE: Combining 1/4 Cup of mix with one 8 ounce can tomatoes or tomato sauce. Simmer, covered, for 30 minutes. Other ideas: Sprinkle a tablespoon of the mix onto a plain lettuce salad to add flavor, or combine the mix with one cup of sour cream for a quick dip for chips.
