Go Picnic Meals Review

Here at Stretcher we had been brainstorming some great foods for a spring picnic...easy to transport, won't spill in your basket or bag, and hopefully healthy for you too. So when we got the chance to review a few boxes of Go Picnic's Ready-To-Eat meals, we jumped at the chance! And these great box meals didn't disappoint. Here's what we think:

Why We Love These Meals

Great for On the Go - These meals are the perfect size for a purse, a diaper bag, a lunchbox, a gymbag, or a picnic basket. They are small and nicely contained in a great little box easy to transport from place to place until you get hungry. Planning a trip with your kids and would rather stop at a place to play rather than a fast food restaurant? These would be perfect for a picnic lunch at a park or a rest area. Have hungry kids after school or sports practice that need a healthy snack? These are quick and easy to pull out of the cabinet, and they don't require any heating or preparation.

Healthy Options - GoPicnic sent us two meal boxes to try - the Hummus and Crackers ready-to-eat meal and the Turkey Stick and Crunch ready-to-eat meal. Both boxes had very tasty treats, perfect for a light lunch. The hummus in particular was really good, and the nuts and seeds were also healthy additions. GoPicnic has a great variety of different kinds of ready-to-eat meal boxes, too! The two boxes sent to The Dollar Stretcher were gluten free, however it is important for consumers to review the product packaging and labels because there are several meals which are not gluten free.

Very Tasty - For a healthy lunch option, these boxes have some nice treats inside with good variety. There are several selections to choose from on the site, from salami to kale, and even sunbutter! GoPicnic definitely has lots of variety.

What to Think About Before You Buy

Portion Sizes - If you are used to large meals, the GoPicnic meals might not be for you. These boxes contain small individual pouches of healthy treats, put together as a complete meal. But for big eaters, GoPicnic may not fill you up. However, if you are used to a smaller lunch, and you prefer healthier options, GoPicnic is a great alternative. And at $4.99-$5.99 per box, depending on the one you choose, GoPicnic meals are a potentially cheaper alternative to fast food or eating out.

Overall, we recommend GoPicnic snacks as a tasty, and healthy meal for on the go. And especially if you are looking for a healthy alternative to eating out or fast food, GoPicnic is a great choice. And they've agreed to give TDS readers 10% off at GoPicnic.com when they order any of the meals! Just use the promo code PR10!
